Europe World Championships

Long waits after a morning which looked full of promise for competitors on Day Three of the Europe World Champiionships taking place in Vilamoura, Portugal.
With the early sea breeze fading and fighting for supremacy with a light local gradient breeze conditions for both races today became very unstable and big shifts in wind direction affected the first leg of all the courses.

" On several occasions one group or another were reaching in to the windward mark and there were wind shifts of 45 and 50 degrees so it was very difficult." said Mark Barron, Team GBR Coach.

The Netherlands' Carolijn Brouwer retains the overall lead after a third place in the first race of the day.
