New US Sailing Youth Championship Website
San Diego

For everything from up-to-the-minute reports, results, and pictures to background information on boats and coaches, US Sailing's US Youth Sailing Championship website is the place to go especially with it's new cartoon graphics.

The Championship will be held at the San Diego Yacht Club (San Diego, CA) June 21-27. Jerelyn Biehl (San Diego, CA) is the Youth Sailing Championship Regatta Chair.

Developed with a grant from the Walt Disney Company, the website includes competitor interviews, photos, and bios ("Just Us"), a section on the Racing Rules of Sailing by Dave Perry ("Da Rulz"), sailing instructions and the Notice of Race ("Borin' Stuff"), and descriptions of the boats (Laser-full rig only-420, 470, and Europe) the young sailors will take on the race course ("What We Sail").

The site also includes the "Graffiti Wall," which will allow participants to leave messages for each other or proud friends and family can leave for their favorite sailors. Additionally, visitors can check out sailing-related links in "The Bilge" and teen-related sites in "Beyond Sailing." Youth Championship merchandise is for sale in "Phat Hat."

The "Press Center" provides links to information reporters may need to create or flush-out stories for their papers or websites, including background information on the event and sponsors, including West Marine and Vanguard Sailboats.
