The Boat - Nomad 1

Nomad 1, Starboard

Many people who contact us ask about the boat they will be staying on during their course or charter, so here she is Nomad 1:

She is a Jeanneau Sunfast 37 (2006) and was built for comfort AND for speed. The Sunfast 37 was chosen Boat of the Year in the US, winner of the prestigious Atlantic Trophy in France, and a top choice for charter companies, the Sun Fast 37 is a comfortable offshore cruiser with a surprising turn of speed. Cruisers will appreciate the generous tankage and accommodations, racers will delight in the powerful rig, and all will enjoy the thrill of sailing fast.

Since acquiring Nomad 1 in 2011 we have invested substantially in improving the boat - after all this is our home for much of the year. Down below we have new upholstery, a new fridge, a new oven and already purchased to be installed in 2014 a new chart plotter.

Above deck we replaced the running rigging (all the ropes) in 2011, the standing rigging (all the metal bits that hold up the mast) in 2013. We replaced the main sail in 2012 and the headsail in 2013 and we have a new cruising chute arriving this year.

Nomad can accommodate 3 people sleeping in the saloon but we never run courses or trips with more than 6 on board !

Nomad has three double cabins one in the bow and two in the stern, all cabins have wardrobe space and pillows for your comfort

Nomad is well stocked with an array of herbs and spices for those of you who enjoy cooking, she has a wide variety of cooking utensils, pots and pans for use in the galley. The oven has two gas hobs, an oven and grill.

Nomad also has a small library of reference books which can prove quite handy when covering elements of theory.

Finally the Head. Well there is not much to say about this little space on the boat other than it has a better shower than some Marinas I could, but won't mention. Quite handy when you are attached to a mooring buoy for a couple of nights !
