Welcome to Kieler Woche, one of the greatest sailing events in the world and the largest summer festival in northern Europe. Now in its 129th edition, the 2011 Kieler Woche will also be one of seven regattas in the 2010-11 edition of the ISAF Sailing World Cup.
Media Accreditation
In order to be entitled to press IDs, admission cards or invitations journalists are required to be accredited. Only professional journalists carrying official press cards or official editorial assignments will be accredited.
From May 2010 on please apply for your accreditation on the Kieler Woche website - http://www.kieler-woche.de/ - and present your identity card or passport upon collecting your press ID.
About the ISAF Sailing World Cup
The first ISAF Sailing World Cup launched at the end of 2008 bringing a new annual series of sailing to the international sports calendar. The third edition of the World Cup begins in Melbourne in December 2010. The World Cup is open to the sailing events chosen for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Sailing Competitions.
Incorporating existing major regattas, the series will kicks off with Sail Melbourne, Australia in December, followed by the Rolex Miami OCR, USA; the Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofia MAPFRE, Palma, Spain; Semaine Olympique Francaise, Hyeres, France; the Delta Lloyd Regatta, Medemblik, the Netherlands; Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta, Weymouth, Great Britain; and Kieler Woche, Germany.
Kieler Woche is the final regatta of the 2010-11 series.
