Day three at Soling

Soling World Championship
Castiglione, Italy

The third day of racing at the Soling World Championship was hit with challenging conditions with only one race finishing on a shortened course.

After a general recall the fleet managed to get away with the downwind legs providing opportunities for big gains.

Austrian trio, Andreas Blaschke, Carly Seemann and Tommaso Fabrinni made the most of the conditions to take the bullet and move up to 23rd overall. They were followed by Billy, Joanne and William Abbott of Canada and Johan Offermans, Niels Vam Bram and Wick Hillege of the Netherlands in second and third respectively.

A good finish from the Canadians keeps them in second overall just behind Hungary's Farkas Litkey, Karoly Vezer and Weinhardt Csaba in top spot. Brazil's Nelson, Gustavo and Felipe Ilha complete the top three places.

Following the race, and a lengthy wait, the decision was made not to start any more races with conditions continuing to worsen.

The 2015 Soling Worlds continues with three more races scheduled for day four and with better weather conditions forecast.
