Still time to try sailing and windsurfing 

At some 200 PTBO events this weekend

There’s still time to try sailing and windsurfing for little or no cost with almost 200 venues opening their doors for RYA Push the Boat Out this weekend.  

RYA Push the Boat Out (09-17 May) which got underway last weekend, is a nine-day nationwide sailing and windsurfing event introducing newcomers of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to the sports with ‘have a go’ taster sessions and open days.  

“The first weekend of PTBO was a success despite the weather being tricky at times especially on Saturday when it was quite windy in places” said RYA Club Support Advisor Jackie Bennetts.    

“We’ve already had some great positive feedback from the clubs who ran events and people who got out on the water and had a go which is fantastic.”    

All you need for any of the open days or ‘try sailing’ sessions is warm clothing, soft soled shoes and a waterproof if it’s raining. The clubs and centres will provide everything else!  Booking may be required for some of the activities.
