Eastern Region Honda RYA Youth Rib 2015

Why not encourage your club's 8-16 years olds to join in the thrills and spills of the Honda RYA Youth RIB Championship, starting with the regional heats.

The programme, sponsored by Honda and Highfield, is a National Championship in which 8 - 16 year old Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) drivers can demonstrate their skills with the goal of winning a Highfield 460 or a Honwave T40 for their club.

The competition is run for two age groups, 8-12 and 13-16. It takes the form of a time trial around a set of marks - the fastest time wins. Skill and control and not necessarily speed are the most important factors.  Each competitor has two runs, one as a practice and one as a 'hot lap'.  Both runs are timed and the fastest time put forward.

Winners of the regional heats go forward to a regional final, and the winners of the regional finals across the UK go to the national final at the Southampton Boat Show in September.
