Palma training camp coming to a close
Written by Chris Draper | 18 March 2010
Hey All,
So we are just finishing our training camp in Palma. We have had 8 solid days training out here. We have done the majority of the training with the Skandia Team GBR 49er squad. The last few days we have spent some time sailing against some of the foreign teams that are starting to arrive for the event and with our training partners Dylan Fletcher and Alain Sign.
The training has been going very nicely. It has all been very tight within the team with no space for mistakes and the sailing we have done against the foreign teams has been very positive. We have made some very good progress since the World Championships earlier in the year and are feeling nice and comfortable as a team. We have one final day's training tomorrow which we'll use to make the final preparations to the boat and have a short sail to polish up a couple of maneuvers that we feel are important for the racing. We then have five days back home to rest before we travel back for the regatta starting on the 28th. All our equipment is working great so thanks to our suppliers. We are in good shape thanks to all the physiology and Strength and Conditioning team. Harvey our coach has been doing a grand job helping us to get ready and both our wives and families continue to support us all the way. Thanks to everyone. All the best.
