Weymouth Training Camp

Written by Dylan Fletcher  | 02 March 2010

Last week we were down in Weymouth whilst some of the squad were in Palma. Lets just say on the first day we were wondering why we stayed in the UK!

Luckily we had a really solid week after the first day, we did not miss any planned training. The British weather did a good job and most of the week we had plus 15 knots, exactly what we needed to blow the cobwebs away and get back into it. On the water we were concentrating on getting back into it all after a break following the 49er World Championships and raising our boathandling up to our normal standard. The sailing went really well and its always good to start training off with a great first camp. We even managed to stay warm, well on the water at least, it was rigging the boat which was the cold part!

So whats next? Well we are back to Weymouth tomorrow to sort of few bits out ready for Palma. Then a squad camp for a few days before we head off to Palma on Monday, hopefully arriving on Wednesday after 2 ferries and over 1000 miles of driving.
