Ready for the World's

Well, we are here in Medemblik, Holland, ready for the IFDS Worlds. Preparations have been underway for a number of months now and its nice to finally be here in the venue as it makes it all seem real.

We’ve really put the hours in on the water since our disaster at the Semaine Olympique in Hyeres. There are no excuses for that, just things that can be worked on, and with the help of Skandia Team GBR and Accenture, we have a profiling tool that has really enabled us to evaluate every aspect of our sailing and work out our priorities for this World Championships. A drastic change in the team has allowed us to really re-focus our game and now we feel more ready!

So here we are, already in Medemblik, with just under a month to go. A few of the foreigners have arrived as well, namely the Norwegians and the Germans. Both of who are considered the best in the world. A training camp has been set up and we’ve got 6 days racing planned. Three days this week and three just before the start of the champs. Its a great opportunity considering at home we very rarely get a chance to sail with anyone other than our tuning crew and this give us a chance to see where we are relative to some of the best in the world.

The IFDS Worlds officially start on the 9th, so we've got a way to go yet, but one small step at a time and we'll be ready!!
