Gone fishing

Well that was the week that was... In all honesty it was super stressful, I think probably the fact that we were full of confidence after Holland regatta was the spur that we needed to keep believing after that first day.

This regatta has been our focus since last years Sail for Gold regatta so to put down a good result was really cool. Looking forward we have a lot of work to do as we are some way from winning a Gold medal next year at the Olympics. We are however in the hunt and thats a good place to be.

The test event in August will give us a chance to get into the team atmosphere we will experience in 2012, and race in a smaller tighter fleet, on the exact Olympic course areas. It's a rare and very important chance so really great we made it. A bit of a break now for us though not as long as we might like, few beers and plenty of chilling, well for me at least! Rodent will have probably blown his way through a few new hobbies by the time we next sail. My bad back has cleared up all of a sudden! I have got a funny feeling that it might have been a touch of stress in those old joints.

I have really enjoyed writing these updates, it's like a bit of a self help time (those of you that have read most of them may feel there is heck of a lot of help needed!). Anyway to all of you that have been reading, thanks, and thanks for all the congratulations we have received! What Ben and I get to do, and to try to achieve is a unique and blessed opportunity, to have friends and family with us along the way only makes it more fun.

To Bernie, Sarah, Jonah, Daisy and of course Baxter, sorry for all the stress of the last few months, I am sure you guys feel it the most. We are still on track, as Wardy said in a text to me 'the plaster worked!' I am off to boots to buy a bumper pack of those. We will try and keep in touch during the training, but if we are all honest the tension of the events is way more fun...
