Winter is settling in!

Well, I say winter is setting in however we did manage to escape it for a week to go and race in Busan, Korea.

The event was a repeat of one we have done and enjoyed a couple of times before and this year did not disappoint!

From a personal point of view although it was lovely to be sailing in shorts and t-shirt again against some of the best teams in the would, the best thing was sailing with Kate and Annie again, the first time we had sailed together since the Olympics. We were also joined by two people who supported us a great deal throughout the last year, Emilie Sauven and Libby Greenhalgh. The five of us had an awesome time sailing together for the first time and went through the round robin and quarter finals no problem at all with straight wins. Unfortunately on the final days when we raced semis and finals, the breeze got up and unfortunately our lack of time together as a team of five showed a little as we just missed out on making the most of a couple of situations on the race course.

Fourth it was in the end and although we were perhaps a bit dissapointed on the day, it was a fair result and perhaps if it had stayed lighter we may have hung on longer but thats yacht racing! One thing is for sure, we are now pretty good (in our eyes) at the the Gangnam Style dance!

That was our last Match Racing event together for the year but I hope to be Match Racing with Kate and Annie again in the not too distant future! In the mean time the three of us are being to work out what is next and we’ll let you know soon….
