Down Time Inbetween Regattas
Written by Megan Pascoe | 13 April 2011
It is now Wednesday morning and I am chilling out in my house watching homes under the hammer. It has been a busy few weeks as we finished Palma on Friday, flew home on Saturday and then back on the water training with the other Paralympic classes on Monday and Tuesday.
I am defiantly ready for sleep today and luckily do not have much to do. The rest of the week includes media training, loading some of my kit into the Sonar for Hyeres and picking up my Merlin dinghy which I own with my brother. Dinghy sailing for me is a way of relaxing and I’m really excited about learning to sail a new boat.
I fly to Hyeres very early on Monday morning and hopefully will be sailing on Tuesday. I really enjoyed coming back to Weymouth last Sunday and going sailing after such a stressful week in Palma..
Spending Sunday morning racing and then sitting in Weymouth harbour over lunch time with a few beers. I then ended up in Castle Cove sailing club drinking tea with a few mates.
Weymouth is great in the sunshine and everyone seems to come out and enjoy it. There are some really nice places to relax in Weymouth and Portland and enjoy some spectacular views.
I also really enjoy being part of the sailing community in Weymouth as it is so diverse from big keelboats to dinghies.
I’m now looking forward to Hyeres and the challenges that will bring with larger fleet.
