"I just wanted to thank you and let you know that iNavX on my iPad really worked well for us on the Oregon Offshore last weekend. I had the iPad in a dry case and we used the basic functions of the iNavX program to navigate our way to an overall victory. I shared the program with a number of competitors after the race and I'm pretty sure they'll be visiting the app store soon. I used the free NOAA raster charts and just the very basic features of your program- but it's simplicity and the ability to use the iPad anywhere on or in the boat just made everything seamless." MM "I successfully used iNavX to input 1,695 waypoints stretching from the waters of Northern Mexico to the Channel Islands. I was then able to export those points and send the exported files to my Furuno dealer who used a Furuno program to convert the file to Excel and sent it back to me. Thank you so much for providing the platform for me to get this project done. I could not have done it without you. Going forward, I will be using iNavX to plan my trips in advance so the system will still get a workout." GM |
"Just got back from a week of boating/fishing in Prince William Sound. Was the first chance I had to "field test" the new iPad 3G (with the built in GPS) and the iNavX navigation sytem with all of the necessary charts loaded. Had this system operating right in front of my operating Maptech (2001) system with all the necessary charts. I used the Maptech system for seeing the bigger picture and used the iPad system for a more close up detailed look at things. First, I'll say the the iNavX NOAA charts are more accurate than charts I think are used by Maptech. For example, in trolling, there is a place between Applegate Island and South Culross Island that shows as 1 1/2 fathoms on the Maptech system and 34 fathoms on the iNavX system. I have steered very clear of this spot in the past as I usually troll with my down riggers at 55' and 65'. In any event I pushed the 1 1/2 fathom area ( I went right over it) and it registered 34 fathoms as was shown on the iNavX NOAA Chart. RD |
