Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! We did manage to make pumpkins but I think we should stick to the sailing!

So another training camp in Weymouth done and we only have 3/4days more sailing before we head out to Australia at the end of November for our World Championships.

With this being the penultimate camp the focus changed more towards execution and winning, not that we are not always trying to win anyway. With light winds on the first day we just put some time into our light wind boathandling, keeping the boat moving before heading in for some weights. There was a lot more wind on day 2, exactly what we needed with Perth coming up. The plan was for 2 sessions but after a big morning session we were all broken so called it a day. It was an awesome session pinging around the harbour in 20-25 knots, its a shame its not like that every time we go sailing!

The last day was a 3 races series with some cash up for grabs, going by our recent track record we were looking to take home the dollar. That was until we capsized in the first race! Opp’s an unusual error by us but a good time to test our mental skills. We finished off with 2 bullets (race wins) but lost the cash by 1 point, frustrating but we were really pleased at how we bounced back.

So now we have a couple of weeks off before our next camp and then onto the Perth for the Worlds. Not a lot left for us to do other than stay in shape and out of trouble for a change...
