Over the moon with the silver!

We are over the moon with our result at the IFDS World Championships. Its been a tough year, and for a while we wondered whether we would ever get back on form. But it seems we are fighting back! Despite the many setbacks at the beginning of the week, we held it together, knuckled down and fought to the bitter end to take the Silver medal.

Going into the last day 4th, 2 points behind the bronze was tough, because we were sailing well. Saying that, if you have nothing to loose, then you have everything to gain! This became clear to me when I saw the leaders, the German team at the back of the pack during the first race of that day! All the work we have been doing on our mental preparation seems to have paid off!

We are now heading back to Weymouth the hit the water once again, to prepare for the Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta in 3 weeks time... Before I go, there are a few people that really deserve a mention, as without them, our result at the Worlds may have been slightly different! Dan, Keith and Hamish, thank you for giving up your time to travel with us to Medemblik to put us through our paces and to help with the all important kit decisions!

To everyone that has been posting messages on the Facebook page, thanks, its great reading all your messages for that little extra bit of confidence! Mum, thanks for taking on the role of Team Chef/ compass minder/ drink provider/ boat washer (the list is endless!), we really appreciate it!

Last but by no means least, Mark Rushall, our coach! Mark, I know at times, we are the most frustrating group of people to work with, but you must admit at times you still love us! Thank you for all your support, the chats, the entertainment, and above all your coaching! So thats it for now, a bit of rest for us all, then we hit the ground running, Weymouth here we come!!
