May Training Camps

Well since Hyeres we have been pretty busy down in Weymouth. Normally this time of year we spend picking the kit that we are going to use for the big regatta of the year like the Worlds, Sail for Gold etc.

But with our winter testing plus a bit of testing over Palma and Hyeres we already know what we are going to use for the Sail for Gold which was nice and left a few less things to be done. Instead we have spent the last few weeks working on the areas we felt needed to be improved after Palma and Hyeres -  starting and refining a few parts of our tuning guide. On the whole it has gone very well, coming together nicely on the last day when we did some racing against the other Brits and some foreign teams -well apart from a bit of capsize recovery after a was a little bit too chilled out during a gybe and did not really cross the boat or stop heading up on the exit… Besides that it was all good.

Now all we have to do before the Sail for Gold, is a bit of boat work, put some GBR sticker on the main and have some time off. We go down to Weymouth on the 31st May to start our pre Sail for Gold prep, mainly just going to do some more racing and double checking the tuning guide etc. But for now we have a bit of time to relax and get ready!
