Inner Circle Rum F40 Regatta Set To Heat Things Up

After a successful season opener at Port Stephens the Farr 40 Australian season will continue with the Inner Circle Rum Farr 40 Regatta at Pittwater be hosted by the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club on October 30th and 31st.
Returning to support the Farr 40 class for a second year, Inner Circle Rum are a strong supporter of sailing and the Farr 40 class. "We enjoy our association with the Farr 40 class and are looking forward to an exciting regatta," commented Stuart GILBERT, MD of Inner Circle Rum and Australian Olympic sailor. Inner Circle Rum announced last week that their Green Dot 57.2% Dark Rum has won the "Jim Murray" Trophy for the Best Rum at the prestigious 2004 International Wine and Spirit Competition held annually in London for the second time.

Winner of the Port Stephens, Peppers Anchorage F40 regatta Richard PERINI will be racing along with nine other boats at the Inner Circle Rum regatta. New owner Andy OFFORD will be racing his new boat Marsim Weapon, with the fleet for the first time since he purchased it in July. Andy purchased the boat, along with his brother Murry and Spencer SIMMONS from Rob SKINNER.

"We are looking forward to competing in the fleet and racing offshore with the boat. We enjoyed our first session in the boat in the Sydney to Gold Coast race in July and plan to be regulars in the class racing" remarked Offord.

Offord will have international 18 foot skiff sailor David WITT onboard as tactician along with Steve GILMOUR who has raced with Perini's Corinthian Doors crew in the boat. Marsim Weapon was second last Saturday in the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron's Gascoigne Cup in the PHS division and won the IRC division from Howard De Torres 's Nips N Tux and fellow Farr 40 OD AFR Midnight Rambler, skippered by Ed PSALTIS, was third.

South Australian David URRY will be returning to class racing after a season away. Urry will steer Brighton Star for Victorian David GOTZE who will return to steer in the Rhodes Waterside F40 regatta mid November.
