Welcome to the Burton Sailing Club website

 

We are a fun, family club that provides a vast range of activities from training for beginners to regular racing, windsurfing and offshore sailing.

 

We enjoy excellent sailing facilities at Foremark Reservoir amidst the dramatic Derbyshire countryside, in the heart of the National Forest within easy reach of Derby, Nottingham, Burton, Leicester and Loughborough.

Burton wins the Interclub event 2012

For the second year in a row Burton SC wins the Interclub event. The home advantage helped with Burton fielding the largest team in the three club event Burton vs Swarkestone vs Staunton Harold. The event cpnsisted of three handicap races with the number of boats to count from each club in the team racing was agreed at 4 boats as this meant all clubs could compete with no DNC scores counting. The cold wet weather was not ideal but the stiff force 3/4 North Eastery breeze made for some exhilarating racing that was enjoyed by all.  Burton won with…

Novice Champs 2012

BSC Novice and Juniors Championship 2012 7 boats took to the water for the club champs, 5 club boats and 2 visitors returning for the blast. The fleet ranging from a Blaze through lasers and 420’s and right through to a Topper, the wind was poor and fickle but just enough for the OOD to get them away.
