Alton Water Sports Centre are currently looking to recruit an RYA Dinghy instructor or Senior Instructor with racing experience to act as a Membership Officer. Working as part of a small team to promote, support racing and other water based activities to our members.

Main responsibilities

• To assist the Shift Manager in ensuring the safe and smooth day to day operation of the Centre.
• To assist and be responsible to the Membership Secretary in promoting access to the water through member and user activities and events.
• To provide customer suport for members and users.
• To assist with the maintenance of the Centres craft, equipment and facilities.
• To provide reception and administrational support for the Centre.
• To deliver 1:1 coaching and general sailing/racing advice to members and users.

The centre runs courses across multiple RYA disciplines and there is a variety of practical and shorebased teaching available for someone with the right skills.  Likewise there is racing available to someone with relevant background.

The Senior Instructor will average 5 days a week, which will include approximately 19 weekends a year. Overtime is available.

Job title: RYA Powerboat Instructor/Watersports Instructor

Based: Latchi, Cyprus

Seasonal: April/May to October 2015

Main duties will include:

• Teaching RYA powerboat courses Level 1, Level 2 and ICC, on both a group and private basis
• Teaching sailing/windsurfing/waterskiing (training provided if no previous experience)
• Sales and customer service for all RYA services  

Assisting with other aspects of the business:

• Watersports - teaching, customer serivce, general maintenance, setting up equipment
• Self-drive boat rentals - short training briefings, general maintenance and cleaning, customer service
• Diving - assisting diving instructors, helping with customers, surface safety cover on dive trips

We have a very good team ethic as a company.  Even though people have their own set roles within the company, every team member is expected to help out with all aspects of the business.  It can get extremely busy here, expecially in peak summer months, where the working day is long and temperatures get very hot.  To balance this, the company provides evening drinks to help the team wind down, and regular staff nights out. Full time hours during the season, monthly salary.
