Gus Lewis, RYA Head of Legal and Government Affairs and Stuart Carruthers, RYA Cruising Manager will be at the Royal Forth Yacht Club on Wednesday 15 April 2015.

Come along to an informative and entertaining evening to find out first-hand about the tireless and often unglamorous work the RYA does to represent your interests and maintain your freedom to pursue your chosen boating activities. Get an insight into the RYA’s work with Government to ensure that full account is taken of recreational boating when laws are made.

It’s your chance to hear about the range of issues the RYA is working on, including:

  • The impact of offshore renewable energy on cruising
  • Safety matters; PLBs, life jackets, RYA SafeTrx app etc.
  • Carriage and disposal of pyrotechnic flares
  • E-borders
  • Harbour Directions
  • Marine Protected Areas

Open to all

All recreational boaters in the area are invited to attend. It is not a requirement to be a member of the RYA or a member of the club hosting the event.

The bar will be open from 19:00 for refreshments and a free light snack will be provided part way through the evening. The more formal part of the evening will start at 19:30 and conclude around 22:00.
