Good news, DWTS fans: you now have the power to influence the pairing of celebrities and pro dancers on “Dancing with the Stars” (@DancingABC). For the first time, Twitter users can affect the fate of the dancers by casting a vote within a Tweet for an element of the show called “The Switch Up”, which requires all couples to switch partners.

Eight years later, our users have transformed Twitter into place where you can discover new ideas, make real human connections and express yourself freely. So as we mark our 8th birthday, we’d like to say thank you — to you.
It’s day one of the #TwitterFiction Festival, and we’ve already seen a myriad of stories coming to life in 140 character bursts. Throughout the rest of this week through Sunday, March 16, the festival will showcase the creative work of more than 50 authors from around the world.
We were alerted to and fixed a bug in our system that, for 94,287 protected accounts under rare circumstances, allowed non-approved followers to receive protected tweets via SMS or push notifications since November 2013. As part of the bug fix, we’ve removed all of these unapproved follows, and taken steps to protect against this kind of bug in the future.
Twitter and the world of fiction will come together March 12-16 for the second #TwitterFiction Festival, a digital storytelling event sponsored by the Association of American Publishers, Penguin Random House, and Twitter. Today, as we gear up for the festival, we’re announcing the lineup of selected authors who will present their eclectic mix of fictional stories to the world on Twitter, all in real time.
