Each Magnesium Plus tablet contains 375mg magnesium as well as the entire family of B vitamins to support the role of magnesium in the production of energy and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. 50% NRV of vitamin C is also provided and completes this unique one-a-day formulation.

The essential mineral magnesium plays a number of functions in the human body, influencing physiological processes important for exercise and sports performance.

Its benefits are wide and varied and include; the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, the support of protein synthesis in the body and the maintenance of normal bone and muscle function. It is also known for the role it plays in maintaining a normal balance of electrolytes in the body.

Product Origins

In accordance with nutritional guidelines we have selected a dual source formulation for our Magnesium Plus supplements consisting of magnesium oxide and magnesium hydroxide. This formula facilitates a high dose of magnesium whilst avoiding digestive complaints.

Magnesium oxide, also known as magnesia, is a naturally occurring compound found as periclase in metamorphic rocks. It is created when magnesium reacts with oxygen and an ionic bond is formed between one magnesium and one oxygen atom. Its hydrated form is magnesium hydroxide which forms in the presence of water. Both compounds are very similar in structure and function, however when they are combined they create a unique balance which optimises activity.

Our Magnesium Plus formula contains the optimal amount of magnesium in compounds which contain some of the highest elemental quantities. Obtaining sufficient levels of magnesium through food alone can be difficult as high intensity agricultural practices have depleted the levels of minerals, such as magnesium, in the soil so significantly. As the foods which naturally contain magnesium obtain it through the soil this has become a real problem in modern society.
