RYA Coastal Skipper – 5 day practical course
# Course reference number: PC4

This is a further advanced skipper training course and the next grade up from RYA Day Skipper for those who wish to manage a yacht in coastal waters by night rather than local waters by day. There is a suggested minimum pre-course experience of 15 days sea time (2 days as skipper); 300 nm logged and 8 night hours. There is a minimum age of 17 before a certificate can be issued.

Prior to taking this course it is assumed students have knowledge of navigation to Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster Offshore Shore Based and sailing ability to Day Skipper Practical standard.

PLEASE NOTE: When courses are based out of Antigua we offer Non Tidal certificates. We are able to offer Tidal certificates when the Coastal Skipper Practical is included as part of Module 3 in our Yachtmaster Xpress Program. This is when we sail down to the tidal waters south of St. Lucia for 5 weeks. Yachtmaster qualifications are neither non tidal or tidal, but do require some logged tidal miles. Please see here
