RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Coastal or Offshore Prep with Exam

This is a 2 week package for students wishing to achieve either of these RYA/MCA qualifications through independent examination.
Experienced sailors can take the RYA/MCA examination for these qualifications at any time. There is no pre-requisite to hold any prior qualifications. However, the Qualifying Criteria is different for each grade and candidates must hold the SRC (VHF) Radio Operators Certificate and an acceptable First Aid Certificate.
Our experience of Yachtmaster examinations has taught us that it is very important for candidates to be completely up to date with their theory knowledge. The examiner will stand at the backstay, set tasks, and fire random theory questions, and expect you to be as confident with the theory as you are at boat handling.
Our pre-examination Yachtmaster Preparation Weeks consist of 1 day of assessment of skills, followed by 4 days of focusing and honing weak areas. It also serves to familiarize candidates with the yacht they will be examined on, and the crew they will be working with.
This package is highly recommended to all Yachtmaster candidates.

RYA Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster Offshore shore based – Theory Course1
Yachtmaster Preparation Week – 5 days of skills assessment and practice
Yachtmaster Examination – 2 days
Note 1
This course is normally optionally available as personal “face to face” tuition in our waterfront classroom, or as an Online Home Study Course delivered by Navathome through Miramar Sailing School. However, such is the importance to us of our students achieving success under examination, we prefer to coach them through their Yachtmaster training personally.
