Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms are GB’s most recent Olympic medallists, having won silver in the mixed doubles at Athens 2004. The pair then went on to be crowned World and Commonwealth champions in 2006.

The Riocentro (Pavillion 4), Rio’s main exhibition centre, will stage badminton during the Olympic Games. The venue is next to the Olympic and Paralympic Village and has a 6,500 capacity.

There are five medal events in badminton; singles and doubles events for both men and women and a mixed doubles event.
