Customers receive a full refund if they cancel in the first 90 days. Refunds are pro-rated after that. Transferring your protection plan is free and can be done online or over the phone.

How does it work?

We'll ship you a replacement Fire Tablet (same or newer model depending on availability). You'll also receive a pre-paid shipping label to send your damaged Fire Tablet back to us (must have a valid credit card on file in order to receive a replacement).

Return your damaged Fire Tablet within 30 days from reception (otherwise you will be charged the price of the replacement).

Upon purchase, you'll receive an email. This will be your official purchase confirmation. To give you the best customer experience possible, SquareTrade may also contact you about your purchase by telephone.

Start Date: Plan begins on the date your Fire Tablet ships (or when your Fire Tablet ships for pre-ordered devices) and is inclusive of the manufacturer's warranty period. I bought this because I had it in 2012 for my 1st generation Kindle Fire Tablet.They happily replaced it when it broke after the manufacturer warrantee was over. Excellent service. I also had a 3 year warranty on the 2010 Kindle Keyboard which they happily replaced at least 3 times because there were a lot of problems with that model. I was so happy with Square Trade service.

Though the description of coverage states: "Extends mechanical and electrical breakdown coverage", it is not an extended warranty (i.e. it does not begin when manufacturers warranty ends). According to Square Deal customer service, in addition to Accident Protection, this plan overlaps the manufacturer's limited warranty and provides additional services that the manufacturer does not provide, such as free shipping and "no questions asked" repair or replacement. For the price, it's a good thing to have, and customer service graciously answered all my questions, so 5 stars for now. If my actual experience differs, I will revisit my review.

It's really worth it if you have kids. I bought one for my son for a road trip and it got damaged in his travel bag and we only had the thing for a few weeks. I called customer service and no questions asked they sent me out a replacement. Definitely worth the extra couple bucks I can't tell you how many cracked screens my wife and kids have had in the past I'll be making sure to always get them covered from now on.

I haven't had to use it, but for the price and piece of mind knowing if something goes wrong & it can't be fixed you get a new kindle, and that can happen up to 3 times during the 2 year period. Were as you pay twice as much for a protection plan through Best Buy, but it can only be used once and if you want the warranty to continue you have to pay for another 1, 2, or 3 years. Hopefully I will never need to use this protection plan but it's there if I need it.

We bought our 7 year old son a Kindle Fire HD6 for Christmas and before we could get it into the protective case he had dropped it. The screen was shattered! I called SquareTrade and within minutes had confirmation that a replacement Kindle was being shipped to the house. I was shocked at how smooth the phone call went, and even more shocked at how helpful and kind the call taker was. My replacement was shipped 2-day priority. Thank you for being an outstanding company to work with!!!!!!

I am glad this option is available for the tablet. Especially with children around. There is a limit to how many times you can use it, which is kind of stupid if you keep getting ones that don't work and you have to return the broken one anyways, but it is still great to have the option to do so. If the tablets work great, this warranty will be awesome!
