5.0 out of 5 stars After a lifetime of swimming--these are the best I've found
I've been a daily swimmer for more than 30 years. I've used Speedo Ultra's, Swedish googles, Barracuda salt water goggles, Speedo Vanquishers, and Aquasphere Vistas. I've used each of these goggles for a significant amount of time.

3.0 out of 5 stars Super comfortable....but leaks
Google reviews are so mixed it makes picking the best one difficult. These googles had a lot of good reviews when I bought them. Many noted they did not leak. Writing one based on my experience for potential buyers - they leaked - no matter what I did. It was a shame because they were super comfortable. I guess everyone's face is different. In case they leak for...

This review is from: Aqua Sphere KAYENNE GOGGLE (Misc.)
I've been a daily swimmer for more than 30 years. I've used Speedo Ultra's, Swedish googles, Barracuda salt water goggles, Speedo Vanquishers, and Aquasphere Vistas. I've used each of these goggles for a significant amount of time.

While all of these goggles have something to commend them, none of them does everything the Kayenne's can do. The Ultras will stay on *no matter what*, but they're uncomfortable. The Swedish goggles are weirdly comfortable, but are prone to failure during racing starts or dives (and don't tell me it's because they weren't on correctly--these things failed Michael Phelps at the Goodwill games). Barracuda's are strictly for lap swimming; they are very comfortable, but I lost mine while swimming in surf (and don't even think about a racing start or aggressive flip turn). The Vanquishers look cool, but aren't very good (I used these for only a short time). The Vista's I really like, and still wear on occasion, but aren't good for aggressive turns or racing starts; they are however, a great lap swimming google.

The Kayenne does it all. It is as comfortable as the Vistas and as race worthy as my old Ultras. There are three different sized versions of the Kayenne: Regular, ladies, and youth. I recommend trying the regular's first, unless you know you have a small face.

The fit and finish of these goggles is a cut above anything I've tried. Only the Barracudas (the high end ones) have a comparable level of finish and they ARE very comfortable, but they are extremely prone to slipping. My Kayennes never slip, they never leak, and (when combined with Spit Brand anti-fog spray) they never fog.

I've stopped looking. I hope they never stop making this goggle.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! These are nice., December 30, 2010
This review is from: Aqua Sphere KAYENNE GOGGLE (Misc.)
Christmas 2010 i decided to buy myself a gift for upcoming triathlon training. I was tired of buying $10 goggles and having them leak, fog up or frustate me, so i decided to invest in something more expensive

Read some reviews here at amazon and decided to try these out. WOW -- what a difference. The air seal in these goggles is amazing, not a single drop of water has come through (ever), and the vision with the lenses is incredibly clear and wide.

Im sold, love them!!

5.0 out of 5 stars These goggles have made me love swimming again, February 27, 2010
This review is from: Aqua Sphere KAYENNE GOGGLE (Misc.)
Best goggles I've ever had--I was miserable with my multiple other goggles. These are easy to adjust, provide a wide field of vision, don't fog up and don't leak. I swam a mile yesterday and didn't have to adjust them once. Furthermore, I didn't need to make them very tight to do this--just a comfortable fit and no headaches as I was getting with my previous pair.

5.0 out of 5 stars AquaSphere Kayenne Clear Lens, July 9, 2012
I swim laps 2-3 days a week for about 45 minutes in an indoor lap pool. I had previously only worn speedo goggles sold at Costco that come three pair to a pack. They were okay at first but became uncomfortable as I wore them in and they started leaking. This took about 4 months. In order to keep swimming I knew I needed to invest in some good swim goggles. I did quite a bit of research online and read a lot of Amazon reviews. I heard a lot of good things about the aquasphere brand but wasn't sure what profile I wanted. I ordered two different profiles, one larger like the Kayenne and a smaller profile like the K-180. (I'll put that in another review) I am extremely happy with the Kayenne and it's similar twin the Kaiman as I ordered both. They are comfortable, and don't leak even when doing flip turns. They fit my face nicely and I have somewhat close set eyes. The nose bridge is fixed so you don't need to adjust it. The rubber gasketing material is soft and does not hurt around my face. Note these fit in a wider perimeter around the eyes, not so close to the eyes socket as some styles do, but they are still minimalistic. Since many reviews said people wished they had ordered an extra pair once they found a pair they really loved, I did the same. I don't think you will be disapointed, these are very high quality. They were also 1/2 the price through Amazon than they were at Dick's Sporting Goods and Sports Authority. They have a professional look to them. Some people have a problem with leaky glasses and one suggestion I have is to put dry glasses on a dry face and then don't mess with them. They seal really well this way and you are good to go for a long swim. If you do take them off mid-swim, dry your face before you put them back on.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nearly Perfect, September 12, 2011

This is my 2nd season competing in triathlon's. I've tried maybe a dozen different styles and brands. Previsouly I was using AquaSphere's Seal XP as the fuller flange was performing better (not leaking) however would leak if my swim cap was on top of the upper flange. So when the XP's started sucombing to sun & chlorine, and reading about the test group reviews on SlowTwitch, I decided to try the Kayenne.

After about 6-12 OWS's they feel and perform the best yet on my face. My wife on the other hand is finding that her's are leaking around her left eye however she may need to try the "small" frame size. It's nice that they come in a carry case however a better selection of color and lens combinations would be nice.

The anti-fogging is good at shorter distances however nearing a mile or further I find that any goggle will begin to fog up just from the perspiration around my eyes. Also, something that all manufactures suffer from is that the materials don't hold up in a combination of pool water and sun - they leak & bands break. To combat I have to remember NOT to use these except in open water if I want them to keep performing. There's nothing like racing with a pair of goggles that don't leak!

Using is believing as far as I'm concerned so whatever and from wherever you buy your goggles, keep your packaging and receipt and return what doesn't work.

Writing one based on my experience for potential buyers - they leaked - no matter what I did. It was a shame because they were super comfortable. I guess everyone's face is different. In case they leak for you, I bought a pair of TYR and they leak far less (I think all leak under the right conditions).

1.0 out of 5 stars LEAKS., April 22, 2014

This review is from: Aqua Sphere KAYENNE GOGGLE (Sports)
I really, really, and I mean really wanted to love this goggle. I thought my search for the perfect goggle had ended when I bought and used this goggle. Unfortunately, my experience with this goggle was disappointing and I have resumed my search for the 'perfect' goggle. With that said, here goes my review. I have swam both competitively and recreationally for 5 years and have used many range of goggles including the most famous brand - speedo. I have used this goggle for 6 months, which gives me a good amount of experience needed to write a decent review. First off, the 180-degree view is excellent. This is something that I never knew and absolutely loved. I fell in love with the 180-degree so much that I swore by Aqua Sphere for the rest of my life! The goggle is easy to wear and adjust, and doesn't leak....for the first month or so. Here comes the problem.

Your experience with this goggle will vary GREATLY with the amount of time you swim as well as the physical structure of your face! I cannot stress this enough. If you have a slightly weird shaped face (like me), your experience with this goggle will start off great and will end terribly. Why? It leaks.

Anti-fog isn't even an issue here like many others have stated. I simply use anti-fog spray which works perfectly. Leaking is a major issue here.

No matter how much I adjust it to fit my face...and after launching off from the wall, water invades the goggles. After a few weeks of this happening, it irked me so much that I decided to just stop swimming and find another pair to use. Now why does it leak? I have a feeling it is because of the plastic surrounding the lens. The plastic erodes over time due to chlorine breaking it down. Even if you take great care and wash it, there's no escape from the inevitable chlorine encounter. The plastic that attaches to your face overtime loses its elasticity and will result in water coming in (this is true of all goggles, but it so happens it is faster with the Kayenne one). Combined that it doesn't help with the fact that my face is not suited for this goggle. Sadly, my time with Aqua Sphere has ended.

I really, really enjoyed it when it didn't leak! The 180-degree view is tremendously helpful in a rec-pool, and just makes everything visually better. Aqua Sphere, I am disappointed. My search for the perfect goggle continues...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fit, solid, good looking, simple to use, August 23, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is my first quality set of swim goggles. Great goggles, well built, simple strap assembly, travel case included and good looking. No water leaks, even with some shallow diving and fast underwater swims. No bulging eye sockets or aches. Easily adjustable and very comfortable. Swim 3-4 times weekly and in both bright sun and evening light. The smoke lens does a great job of cutting the glare and keeping the light (hey, I'm in the desert) in check. Evening and night swims are not too dark. Somehow the smoke lens just does it all. The strap adjustment is really, really good idea. Look at the other reviews. With the touch of a button, I can easily adjust the fit. Very thoughtful design. I use the strongly built package as a travel case in my swim bag and it works well. I chose these based on best qualities, not value. $30 delivered to Kuwait. Very good product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Aqua Sphere Kayenne vs. Seal vs. Vista, March 5, 2013
By

I have all 3 - the Seal, Vista, & Kayenne. I think the fit of these mask/goggles are very personal, so it's hard to really say if it will work for you or not. The best I can do is comment on the quality, function, and fit FOR ME. I guess I have kind of a narrow face if that helps. By the way, all 3 are excellent quality and I don't believe I will ever buy any other brand goggles/mask again because they are so nice.
Seal - Biggest and best vision and super comfortable. Leaks a little for me, but not a showstopper. The leaking could probably be fixed if I tightened it more. The thing I like best is that it doesn't give me raccoon eyes after I swim (looks like I have black eyes if you never experienced it).

Vista - Very comfortable, good vision, but not quite as good as the Seal. For me, this one leaked the most out of the 3. It just seems that it fit somewhere between my eye sockets and my face, and for whatever reason it couldn't make a good seal there. Again, the nice thing is no raccoon eyes.

Kayenne - Pretty comfortable, though not as much as the Seal or Vista. This one is the only one of the 3 that doesn't leak at all for me. They are more minimalist (smaller) so the vision isn't as good as the Seal or Vista, but still very good compared to other brands. So overall, they are lightest, smallest, and best fit. The ONLY reason this is my least favorite is because it gives me raccoon eyes.

So for me, Seal are my overall favorite, though if I wasn't worried about raccoon eyes, I would choose the Kayenne.

2.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly distorted underwater vision, September 19, 2013
These goggles are the best looking that I have ever bought. I can see perfectly clear on land, but not in water. The curved lenses do offer a wider field of vision that is distorted and almost nauseating with imapaired depth perception. This is not the case with flat lens goggles or masks. I do not recommend these googles to anyone. I bought a pair for my daughter not knowing of this fact and fear that it will affect her vision in the long term. We stopped using these googles.
