Great until...
I loved this game. It was amazing fun and took a great amount of time. I got it free for the app stores birthday and it was one of the best games I have played. Until it started scaring me. It just started glitching on the freestyle event. It almost crashed my entire kindle. I decided to give it one more chance. It did it again. I tend to think of myself as generous for...

All the frills and quite a few spills await you in this extraordinarily deep racer. And I mean DEEP potential customization with low level of permissions, Network Access (Amazon GameCircle integration) and SD Card read/write. The game immediately launches you into the tutorial with tilt movement controls, and after this simple introduction, the dizzying array of choices begin. In fact, I think the graphics are even smoother and more glossy than when I first played this 6-7 months ago. :o
Settings - You can change between two styles of tilt control, and a wider selection of tap-screen control layouts. I did find that the tap-control not quite as responsive as the tilt steering was. Along with music/fx, there is a detailed advanced graphics menu, allowing you to really fine tune the display if necessary. Gameplay - Earning both XP and cash, the upgrade options of all kinds really get the teeth into Ripetide GP2: skills, vehicle, player level, tigers, lions, bears, oh yes! And the dev team just keeps adding more AWESOME to this game all the time. MINOR PEEVES: The one and only "BAH!" I have is that to have an actual name for your player profile, you must sign in with a Amazon GameCircle account. A minor thing in view of the sheer majesty of the game, but still a personal peeve. There is also IAPs present in the game, but I have my IAPs turned off through Amazon App Store, relieving any worries of potential brain-farts (hey, it happens :p ). The IAP really doesn't bother me in this game, being more of a "I Want it NAO!" short-cut than anything else. I recently had someone ask how one turns off the IAPs purchase, so a quick run through: Open Amazon App Store, click upper left menu button (three lil lines), then down towards the bottom, Settings. 2nd from top is Enable IAP, and here you can turn off and on the ability to purchase, requiring your Amazon Account password. TECHNICAL BITS: Contains Flurry Analytics, which is strictly limited in this case to app reporting of performance, as well as GameCircle and the resulting inclusion of Amazon's own marketplace analytics, Insights (GameCircle now requires Insights to run). Game does run OFFLINE. Installed at 58.76mbs with an option to move it to my SD Card (KitKat 4.4.2), leaving 10mb on device. Memory/battery consumption is as expected, so have your charger at hand for extended play. Back-key exits cleanly. SUM: The vastness of Riptide GP2 could keep me writing for an hour, but my time this morning is short, and why read when you can experience it? All in all, the overall design is how games should be offered. Visual bling, in-depth settings and massive gameplay upgrades, no unnecessary Permissions, and an honestly exciting entertainment value. Huge Kudos!

This FAOTD is a fast paced and fun water racing game..Good tutorial.. Smooth game play..Amazing animations and HD graphics..For those who like these type of racing games you won't get bored...Easy controls..Just tilt side to side to increase your speed and go..Brakes are at the bottom of each corner of the screen and the boost button is in the upper right hand corner....Many tracks to race from and 25 high jump stunts to beat your fellow players..More stunts you get right the more boost power you obtain...Nice background music and realistic sounds..It can be very challenging....
I like jetski racing..Recommended if your any kind of racing fan.. It has no malware..It does have IAP which I have seen can go up to $100.00 to upgrade your ride so I would turn on my parental controls to be safe...

As the game started it locked up and did not respond and my tablet asked me if I wanted to restart it. On the second try it loaded. The graphics of the game are hot (I mean really Hot!) and the special effects and sound track are good. The responsiveness of the game is very good to the tilt controls and buttons. You are racing a hydro jet (A super jetski) and performing stunts. The courses you race on are spectacular and well designed. The action in the game is fun and the overall impression of the game is that it is top notch and first class design work and programming. (Except for the crash which so far only happened once.)
There are links to Google +, Facebook and twitter and you are paid fake money for following or linking the developers. You can also make In App Purchases up to $99.99 to purchase fake money. It is easy to turn off the IAP in the Aamazon App Store settings by touching the hamburger stack button in the upper LH corner of the AppStore. After that just scroll down to Settings in the left hand column and touch it and then disable InApp purchases. To play the game you have to sign into it and you are forced to use Amazon GameCircle. I don't care for this and I do not use Amazon GameCircle and I felt that this should not be required to play a game. This is the first game that I have downloaded out of over 1000 that forced me to sign in to play. The game is designed with Amazon In App Billing built into it. It also contains Flurry Analytics which can collect your behavioral game play and what you do in the app. It can report game action and failures back to the developers so it can have a valid purpose in the game. I hope it reported my loading crash which seems to have also happened to other people. The app's permissions are limited to internet access permission and the ability to read and write to your storage so in its present configuration it is not data mining your personal information. Overall the game is a 5 star game but I deducted 1 star for forcing me to sign in, crashing on start up and for the In App Purchases. The game will not play if you turn off the internet, that is the reason they force you to sign into the Amazon GameCircle. Make sure that you shut off the IAP before you let your kids play or your will have a $99.99 charge to your account.

Almost Perfect!,

Note: This review is for those using the Kindle Fire HD 8.9. I don't yet know how it works with the other versions of the Kindle.
Just when I was about to buy the first one. The second one wasn't available for for Kindle Fire HD yet, they add it to the Amazon Appstore. How lucky am I? Getting it on the first day, and being the first to review it. So far the game is almost perfect. A few minor issues here and there, but nothing major. Right of the bat the game force closed (FC) on me when I opened it. I thought it wouldn't work. I gave it another shot and would you look at that, it worked. (The FC must have been something unrelated to the game.) The game has a very short, but informative tutorial right when you start. I have yet to get far in the game so I will update this review if needed. Here are some PRO's & CON's. PRO's: + 3D Graphics are great. + Tutorial is Short, Sweet, and To the point. + Gameplay is smooth as silk. + Has a nice Multiplayer. + Uses Amazon GameCircle. (More games should use this.) + Good variety of customization. CON's: - Unresponsive on occasions (If you touch the screen while it's on a loading screen). Conclusion: The game is nearly perfect. It's well worth the $2.99 price tag. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the game became unresponsive when I accidentally touched the screen while it was loading more then once (won't force close but it comes up with a message saying that it is not responding and asks if you want to wait or force close it). If you just click wait it will continue without any problems. That's just a minor bug that I'm sure will be fixed in a future update. The game is pretty new so you can expect a glitch/bug here and there. If you guys are looking to buy it, my suggestion is go for it. Thumbs up on the buy. You won't be disappointed. Hope this helps and thanks for reading.

Riptide Gp 2 is really sweet you can upgrade your jet and have more tracks to choose than in the first Riptide GP, and now you can go multiplayer. I recommend that you download.

The game is simple and relatively fun, but I can see it getting boring quickly. There is no multiplayer, as there is with the iPhone version, and playing against the A.I. is only fun for so long... I guess you can play online, and it compares your times against others, but you can't invite friends to a private race. On top of that, upgrades and new vehicles are pretty expensive, and there would be no way to get them without spending actual money in IAP. Even if you played long enough to save the in game cash for a decent vehicle, you'd be completely bored with the game and have to repeat levels a significant number of times. As with all new racing games, throttle is automatic, but you control breaking (which is hardly needed), a boost function, and can do tricks (which you learn each time you level up, and refill your boost if landed) by swiping your fingers in various directions on the screen (a trick list is available).
It reminds me of the old N64 game "wave race" :). The graphics are decent (not as good as NFS MW, but still ok), and you can customize the vehicle and rider colors, which is nice. It's entertaining for a while, and well worth $1. If you enjoyed wave race or other such games, you'll probably enjoy this one.

The original Riptide GP has been my favorite racing game since the first day I played it...truthfully, it's been one of my favorite Android games, period. While I play more than a few genres of games (on computer, console, & Android), my three favorites have always been RPGs, FPSs & racing games. Unfortunately, when it comes to quality RPGs, there are very, very few available for Android devices, which is why I tend to mostly stick to racing & FPS games. The original Riptide GP had fantastic gameplay, & excellent graphics, plus its re-playability was outstanding. In comparison to other great racing games, it reminds me of the original Need 4 Speed on the computer, which had the same great qualities, & spawned one of the greatest racing series ever seen.
Riptide GP2 has, quite literally, taken what made the original such a great game, & made it better. If Vector Unit continues on the path they're currently following, I foresee an equally-outstanding series of incredible "jet-skiing" racing games. I wish that Amazon (and Google Play) had some way of denoting games that stand above the rest...like a "User Recommended" option...as Riptide GP2 is better than just a "5-star rating". I'm certain others will agree with me when I say, "I can't wait for Riptide GP3."
