Ratings, Releases, and Reviews
Rate movies you've already seen and bookmark movies you'd like to see. View top photos, actors, and movie news. Movies also offers the unique capability to browse movies that have already been released to DVD and to view new and upcoming DVD releases.
Movies uses the popular review aggregator, Rotten Tomatoes, to give you a quick overview of what movies are fresh (i.e., worthy of your theater budget), or rotten (i.e., slammed by critics).

Access Your Netflix Queue
If you are a Netflix subscriber, easily login directly from the app to add movies to--or remove movies from--your Netflix queue. Or, sign up for a trial Netflix account. Movies likewise allows quick access to Flixster, a social movie web site, and Facebook.

This such a handy app. I can plug in whatever city I"m at and find the nearest theater with the movie times. It even gives the trailers, critic and audience ratings. They give a brief bio on the actors. In some cases it gives the Dvd release date.

I think this app has great potential. There are several things that I like about it, mostly the movie time features, and access to reviews and dvd information. What kills it for me is that you cannot watch downloaded movies without a Wi-Fi connection on the Kindle Fire. I found that out the hard way on a 10.5 hour plane flight. Looking around, it appears that they have addressed this issue with an updated version for other platforms, but it hasn't been made available for the Kindle Fire yet. Until they do, this app has limited usefulness for me.

Bought a DVD combo pack with UV. Had to d/l this app on my kindle fire HD, sign up for two different accounts (Flixter and UV), and enter the UV code. After all of that, it won't let me watch the movie. Every time I press "watch now", it says "initializing", then does nothing.
