Biography

kristanbromley.com

The Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games will mark a fourth consecutive Olympic appearance for Kristan Bromley, having competed in Salt Lake City 2002, Turin 2006 and Vancouver 2010. The British slider narrowly missed out on medals in both Turin and Vancouver, finishing in fifth and sixth positions.

Bromley claimed gold at the 2008 World Championship in Altenberg, Germany and in doing so made history as the first athlete to hold the ‘triple crown’ of world titles: the World Championship, European Championship and World Cup title in the same season.

Bromley has a PhD in Materials Engineering, and as such has designed the sleds that both himself and fiancé Shelley Rudman (also a Team GB skeleton athlete) compete on.
