NOT WORTH READING-IMMATURE,BORING,

This review is from: Life is What You Make it (Paperback)
The story is about a girl who fell in love with a guy-Boy proposed girl for marriage-Girl said she is not ready for marriage as she needs to continue her higher studies-Boy committed suicide-Girl went in depression and admitted in hospital for mental treatment-Girl gradually recovered and suddenly THE END.
This book has been marketed brilliantly as a motivational stuff, but in reality there is nothing like that. Immaturity of writer is apparent at many places like she used 'the Hall was full of 6000 breasts and 3000 vaginas' for 3000 girls sitting in an auditorium. It seems that story is taken from some TV serial. Only positive point is the price of book, but still it is a wastage of money and precious time. Hope next book from author should be worth reading. I ALSO SUSPECT THE Authenticity OF THE REVIEWERS WHO GAVE 5 STAR FOR THIS CHILDISH STORY

More of a vulgarity in the name of modernity,

This review is from: Life is What You Make it (Paperback)
The title is misleading. In the name of hope, determination & destiny lady author has put a lot of vulgarity & obscene language in the book. All these could have been avoided but it appears as selling gimmick.
I purchased this book based on title, thinking my children will read it & get inspired. But after reading few pages, I have decided to throw away this book. This is definitely not recommended.

The title does not connect,

The book title "Life is what you make it" does not connect with the book contents. One would expect that this is about taking life as it comes, managing tough spots and so on - instead this is a like a fictional story that, like is the case with many Indian authors, has a unsatisfactory ending.

So so so Boring,
By Sagar kulshreshth (Firozabad) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Life is What You Make it (Paperback)
I have read many Indian Authors,
This is the most boring novel I have ever read. If you want to pass your time, You will be sleeping after some minutes. Damn, The Second half is so boring and Author talks a lot more about feeling again and again, does not make sense. And the title doesnt make sense, This is nowhere near to be an inspirational book. So boring, Immature and Does not even inspire.

Not an inspirational book, but prescribes going to mental hospital is not wrong,

This review is from: Life is What You Make it (Paperback)
Looking at the book name, I was delighted someone in India could write a really inspirational and spiritual book. But, truly I am disappointed at reading it. If you are thinking that this is an inspirational book, that can get you out of your lows and that lays road to your goals, DO NOT look at this. Ankita - the lead role - does not make any specific attempt to get out of her mental disorder and more over she dives deeper into it. If you look at the whole book, more than 50% of the book was on how she was doing good (before her depression, if I may refer to) and having great life etc. About 25% of the book tells how she suffered her mental agony and how she succumbs to it. And rest of the book tells how circumstances (Dr.Madhusudan in the mental hospital, his assistant and environment in the mental hospital Ankita admitted) have helped her to get out it. It does not tell how one's determination can change one's life despite hurdles, but it tells how the circumstances can influence change. I think, Ankita is not the role model but someone needed to be put back on track and the efforts of her parents, her doctors, her friends in mental hospital that made her to get out of it.
It does not offer tips or a path to get out of lows and get back on your own. Frankly, the character - Ankita - does not inspire you. All through the book, this character has not created any good opinion. Moreover, it gives an impression Ankita does not have any specific character and she is largely driven by circumstances and people around her - be it love, be it her studies or extra-curricular activities in the college. There is little she planned or determined to do, it just happens in her life including her coming back to normal. The message the book conveys is that one need not feel bad going to mental hospital and getting admitted, if needed than how to achieve your goals in life. May be this book is for one, who is in mental agony and in dilemma whether to join a mental hospital or not. This book supports them, saying what kind of help one may get in the hospital, unlike what is seen in the movies. This may be aimed to become basis for a bollywood movie. I feel this is just a fiction story, not an inspiratory one, is not what is given in 'book description'. I usually do not write book reviews, but I felt I should help readers why this IS NOT a choice, if they are thinking this is an inspirational book.

i read the book one you cannot have from the same author, but this was disappointing totally, first title isnt related to the story, the story is divided in two parts basically, which again, not related to each other, yes, it will enlighten your not knowledge about one mental disease yet it can't be the only reason to read this book. in brief if u dont read it book it will no lose. for me it was waste of time.

one time read book, i didn't find it motivational at all, it was just a story of a girl with many friends, one remote boyfriend as well as a college boyfriend , and her MBA where she was showing outrageous performance and suddenly caught mental disease .
if you start to read you will see her life in your mind. if you want motivation please don't buy this book however if you want to read a good story you should get it

Read it as a favor to the society.. Amazing....,
This review is from: Life is What You Make it (Paperback)
Inspirational .........
This book relates closely with my life & i was lucky enough to buy it randomly & just read through it. It would help youngsters in changing their mindsets about the social stigmas existing since decades in a place like India & how depression has been captivating & destroying the young minds due to the roller coaster challenges life has in it for you.
