The 2014 U.S. News and World Report ranked Texas A&M second nationally in their "Great Schools, Great Prices" category among public universities and 23rd overall. Many degree programs are ranked among the top 10 in the country. Texas A&M University is one of a select few institutions in the nation to hold triple federal designation as a land-, sea- and space-grant university. It consistently ranks among the country's top 20 universities in both enrollment of National Merit Scholars and in annual research spending.
