The Brunel Badger

Diana is back in the boathouse!

“Hello all! My name is Diana – some of you may recognise me -and I’m back to organise 2015′s Brunel Badger! Hosted by Brunel University, it will take place at Datchet Water Sailing Club and we’ll be using fireflys.

The Cam Cup

The Cam Cup is Cambridge University’s annual team racing event at Grafham Water SC.
Accommodation can be provided in Cambridge, and there will be a black tie social on the Saturday evening.

Entries will be done by an application system. Interested teams should fill out and return the application form by the 23rd January.

The Hallam Hangover

Now an established annual event, the Sheffield Hallam University Sail and Windsurf Club are pleased to invite you to our annual team racing event- The Hallam Hangover!

Come and join us for two days of top quality team racing, organized by an experienced race official and experienced team of sailors.

Racing will take place over the weekend of 6th -8th March 2015 in the waters of Pennine Sailing Club at the heart of the picturesque Peak District.

We have an epic social programme planned for the Friday and Saturday night within the city of Sheffield, so you can be assured of a fantastic weekend!

The event gives you the opportunity for some practice before events towards the end of the season such as the Ladies Nationals, Team Racing Finals, or the Wilson Trophy. It is also an opportunity to give some of your newer sailors some practice ahead of the new season.

University of London Sailing Club are inviting 16 teams to join them for two days of sailing at the Welsh Harp Reservoir and, of course, two great socials in the centre of London. Teams needing accommodation will be put up among our members.

Swansea University Sailing Club are delighted to announce a 2nd Swansea Spartan will be happening this spring at Tata Steel Sailing Club, Margam.

The format will be round-robin across both Saturday and Sunday with epic socials on both Friday and Saturday night, including the famous wind street!

BUSA & RYA Ladies' Team Racing Championships 2015

The BUSA and RYA Ladies’ Team Racing Championships 2015 is organised by Spinnaker Sailing Club and Wessex Sailing Club (Southampton University), on behalf of the RYA and BUSA. The event is for three boat teams and will be sailed in Fireflies supplied by the organising authority. Each boat shall be sailed by two ladies. The sailing will be held at the Spinnaker Club, Ivy Lane, Blashford, nr Ringwood, BH24 3LY

The BUSA Ladies Trophy will be awarded to the highest placed qualifying University team (see NoR).
[Please note that BUCS points are not awarded to the university ladies' teams at this event]

Accommodation is provided by student members of Wessex (Southampton University) Sailing Club.

Planning is in hand to encourage youth sailors also to participate in the event and to hold a dinner that all can attend in Southampton, before any later-night revelry for those who wish!

The Big Lash

The Big Lash, hosted by Manchester and Liverpool Universities, is back once again.

This year promises to be yet another highly successful event, with racing held at the world-renowned West Kirby Sailing Club and socials hosted in Liverpool. We have been successful in running more than 100 races before going to semis and finals in the past few years, and this year we aim to do the same, if not better!

Last year we hosted 24 teams making The Big Lash one of the largest University events in the country, and much enjoyed by all who attended – both on and off the water!

Discounted entries of £220 available to teams who enter by 1st of January 2015; entries will be £250 thereafter.

Hosted by Exeter University Sailing Club at Roadford Lake, this is the second Richard Ward Trophy event.

There will be socials on the Friday and Saturday nights.

Scottish Student Sailing Championships 2014-15

Glasgow University Sailing Club “would like to invite you to our latest well-organised and well-attended team racing event…the Scottish Student Sailing (SSS) Championships 2015” to be held on Bardowie Loch.

“Missed out on the Glasgow Grouse? Want more Grouse-esque action but don’t want to wait a whole year? Wishing finals was held in Glasgow again this year? Then this is the event for you! Also, it is the last SSS event before Finals and so the ideal warm-up, or a great season-ender for those who didn’t quite make it.”

First open qualifier for the 2015 Series. This will also be a selection event for GBR teams wishing to be selected for support for international events in 2015. More information, coming soon.

Wilson Trophy

The Wilson Trophy , the British Open Team Racing Championships for the Wilson Trophy, will be held as usual at the West Kirby Sailing Club (CH48 3HZ) on the Marine Lake, This will incorporate the Twiname Trust Under-21 Wilson Trophy for teams with at least five members who are under 21 on the 8 May 2015

All information may be found on the Wilson Trophy website. The Notice of Race has been posted there.

A maximum of 32 teams will be accepted. When entering, applicants are asked to provide as much detail on the entry as possible, as the information on the form assists the selectors if the event is over subscribed.

There are options for entry and payment on line and by other means, but the latter must be received in the WKSC Office NO LATER THAN 5PM on 15 February 2014. Any enquiries should be made to Sue Capper at the WKSC.

Old Joe

The Old Joe is an event to get old boys and alumni back to team racing. The event is in association with RYA. It is hosted by University of Birmingham Sailing Club at South Staffordshire Sailing Club. All abilities at encouraged; we will be racing similar standards together. Priority will be given to club and old boys’ teams first, followed by current university teams.
