How to Apply

To apply for the British Keelboat Academy, you need to be aged between 18-24 years old during the squad year (i.e. born after 31/12/1990).

You need to have a British passport and be available to train and race on the south coast. You need to be able to pay the squad fee (£350) which helps pay for the training weekends, boats, coaches, lecture rooms, clothing, accommodation, food, etc.

To race at a high level, sailors need to be physically and mentally fit. The programmes include fitness sessions aiming at improving your personal fitness; please contact us if you think this could be an issue.

The BKA applications open 26th September 2014 and end on the 3rd November 2014. Click here to open the Application Form. Once you’ve submitted your application, you need to send us a copy of your sailing CV including profile picture and covering email to admin@britishkeelboatacademy.org

You will be notified about your application by the 14th November 2014. If you successful, you will need to pay your BKA squad fee (£350) by the 21st November 2014. Please check the BKA training dates and make sure you are available. If you have any concerns regarding other race dates, please contact us.
