Given the progression of GB Senior Men's forward Myles Hesson in recent years, it is of little surprise that he refuses to impose any limits on where his game could take him next.
The 24-year-old caught the eye as he averaged 11.8 points and six rebounds per contest at EuroBasket 2013. To some he may have been an overnight sensation, but the 1.97m forward had been rapidly stepping up his development through the levels as he progressed from Birmingham Aces into the British Basketball League.
After two years in Britain's top flight, he headed to Germany and to another league with the BBL moniker. He's now with Eisbaern Bremerhaven, as well as being a fixture in the Great Britain line-up.
Hesson was at the heart of GB's play during an ultimately unsuccessful EuroBasket 2015 qualifying campaign during the summer, but despite the disappointing results, he continues to look forward.
"You can always take positives away from losses, it was a good learning experience for all of us," said Hesson.
"There were times when we played good basketball and times when we didn't - we need to learn how to put 40 good minutes together.
"I am happy with the role I had on the team this year, it gives me motivation to do better and achieve more."
There could yet be better times ahead should Hesson continue to improve while representing his country, and one man who might agree with that is Great Britain captain Drew Sullivan.
In a recent interview with gbbasketball.com in August, Sullivan described Hesson as one of the players who represent 'the future of our national team', the kind of challenge Hesson welcomes.
"It is a great honour for the captain of the national team to say that about me. It is definitely a responsibility I would relish and one I hope I can fulfil," added Hesson.
Before he can think about that however, Hesson has his sights set on another season of progression - both in the German BBL and in respect of his own game.
"My focus for this season is to make the play-offs first of all and then go as far as we can," he said.
"Personally I would like to improve the consistency of my perimeter shooting and also improve my ball handling.
"I am never satisfied with any aspect of my game so I will continue to work on everything else so I can get better at all aspects of the game - offensively and defensively."
Given his progress so far, few would bet against Hesson continuing on this steep development path, and it is one he feels could lead right to the top.
He revealed, "My ambition has always been to play at the highest level I can, I never put a limit as to how far that is so I will continue to work my way up the ranks.
"I would love to win a EuroBasket competition with the national team and also play in the World Cup someday.
"The only way to reach these goals is through hard work and dedication."
