The Equality Standard: A Framework for Sport
Working in collaboration with home country sports councils, CCPR and equity organisations, UK Sport has developed the Equality Standard for sport. The Standard builds on the success of the Racial Equality Standard and provides a tool for sports organisations to work progressively towards equality. The Equality Standard will ensure equality is integrated into all aspects of sports bodies' operations and services to members, athletes, staff and volunteers.

Child Protection
In sport, the protection of the individual - protection, for example, from abuse, harassment, or commercial exploitation - is paramount. Everyone has a right to be treated with respect and fairness - a right which is now clearly enshrined in Human Rights legislation.
Children, young people and vulnerable adults may need greater protection than others, and this is an important element of UK Sport's work. UK Sport is working with the Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU), established by the NSPCC and Sport England, to develop and disseminate good practice for sports governing bodies.
The CPSU has developed a model Child Protection policy and Standards for Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport. The Standards provide a national benchmark of good practice that sports organisations can work towards. For further information please contact the CPSU:
