The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) has awarded BAE Systems a five-year contract with an estimated total value of $335 million to assist in transforming the collection, maintenance, and utilization of geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) data and products.

The award supports NGA’s dynamic Map of the World project, which is giving U.S. military leaders clearer on-the-ground intelligence pictures to enhance situational awareness and mission planning.

“Our GEOINT experts will be exploring new sources of data, including commodity data, open source intelligence, and NGA archive data to deliver new products in line with the agency’s changing mission focus,” said DeEtte Gray, president of BAE Systems’ Intelligence & Security sector.

The work on NGA’s GEOINT Data Services Program will be performed at BAE Systems’ facilities in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
