Pearson nominated for IPC Male Athlete of the Month

Following a bumper month of sport, the IPC has split August's Allianz Athlete of the Month into three categories - Best Male, Best Female and Best Youngster - and the first award the public can vote for is the Best Male.
Between now and 10 September, the public can vote for their favourite via www.paralympic.org from a shortlist of six male athletes who took part in some of the major Championships and events that took place last month. They are:
Yevheniy Bohodayko (Ukraine), IPC Swimming - An incredible run of form at the 2014 IPC Swimming European Championships saw double world and Paralympic champion Bohodayko crowned the most decorated athlete with seven golds and two silver medals.
Daniel Fitzgibbon (Australia), sailing - Secured his first ever world title at the 2014 IFDS Combined Sailing World Championships in Halifax, Canada. With partner Liesl Tesch they finished ahead of Great Britain's six time champions Niki Birrell and Alexandra Rickham.
Eoghan Clifford, (Ireland), cycling - In his first major Championships, Clifford won two rainbow jerseys for Ireland in the C3 class at the UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships in Greenville, USA.
Zak Madell (Canada), wheelchair rugby - Won the Most Valuable Player award and best player in his classification at the 2014 Wheelchair Rugby World Championships in Odense, Denmark, despite his side losing to Australia in the final.
Henry Manni (Finland), IPC Athletics - Manni stormed to four gold medals in all distances from 100m to 800m T34 to enter the top three medallists at the 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships in Swansea, Great Britain.
Lee Pearson (Great Britain), equestrian - Broke a four-year individual gold medal drought to win two golds on horse Zion at the FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy, France, and was part of the British collective that took the team title.
The public has until 12:00 (CEST) on 10 September to vote for their favourite.
The nominations are compiled from submissions by National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) and International Federations (IFs).
