We are the British Paralympic Association, or the BPA. As the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) for Great Britain, it is our responsibility to select, prepare, enter, fund and manage the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team at the Paralympic Games. This team is known as ParalympicsGB.
ParalympicsGB has a proud track record of coming in the top three at the last four summer Games. For London we had two ambitions; to win more medals across more sports than in Beijing and to use the power of the home Games to shift perceptions of disability sport and disabled people. We are confident that we achieved those ambitions and are now working hard to ensure the momentum created by London 2012 affects real change and lasting improvement.
In line with our charitable objects, our vision for 2012 to 2017 is:
"Through sport, inspire a better world for disabled people"
and our mission is:
"To make the UK the leading nation in Paralympic sport..."
...On the field of play
...In support of athletes
...In our advocacy and influence
...In promotion of the Movement
...In supporting the development of grassroots participation and a world class sporting system
