Full ArticleFred Evans made history in 2011, along with Andrew Selby, as they became the first Welsh boxers for 86 years to win European gold. He qualified for London by reaching the last eight of the 2011 World Championships.
Evans won gold at the European Cadet Championships in 2007 and subsequently attended Beijing 2008, aged 17, as part of the BOA’s Olympic Ambition Programme.
At the 2012 Olympics in London, Evans won silver in the men's welterweight (69kg).
