The Green Blue Welcomes New Team
Member Kate Fortnam !
The Green Blue is delighted to welcome Kate Fortnam
to the team as the project's new Environmental Outreach
Officer.
An environmental science
graduate, passionate boater, former Senior Environmental Tutor
for a UK outdoor learning company and until recently a teacher of
Geography in a Somerset Secondary
School, Kate's knowledge and experience will
provide the ideal combination of skills and qualities for
this new role at The Green Blue.
Kate's focus will be targeting
existing as well as new groups of boaters to inspire them to take
on board sustainable boating through new resources,
and interactive sessions, workshops and presentations.
With a passion for dinghy and yacht
racing mostly in Lyme Regis, Dorset and occasionally around the
Ionian Islands in Greece, Kate enjoys different types of boats
but more often than not found on an Albacore, Laser 1 or a
Hunter Medina.
'The Green Blue gives me the
opportunity to combine my two passions I have in life, sailing and
the natural environment. It's exciting to be part of a
dedicated and pro-active team that touches so many areas of the
recreational boating community, trying to inspire people to become
more sustainable in what they do both on and off the water'
commented Kate. 'I'm looking forward to getting started and would
welcome any contact from clubs, centres and interested
groups keen to be involved in an activity or workshop or to
host an event.'
