Athletics: A GB & NI squad, captained by Goldie Sayers, is currently competing at the European Championships in Zurich, Switzerland from 12-17 August.

Badminton: The squads and scoring system for the National Badminton League (NBL) have been confirmed.
The NBL’s confirmed scoring system will see matches being played in a ‘first to nine points’ format to reward attacking gameplay, making games even more thrilling to watch in a ‘best of five’ event.

Canoeing: Britain’s Louisa Sawers became world champion for the first time after winning the women’s K1 W 5000 final at the Canoe Sprint World Championships in Moscow.
Olympic Champion Ed McKeever won Bronze in the K1 200m, before teaming up with Liam Heath, Jon Schofield and Kristian Reeves to win Bronze in the K1 200 relay K1 200 relay on the final day.
London 2012 Bronze medallists Liam Heath and Jon Schofield were fourth by a narrow margin in the K2 200 final.
The new partnership of Jess Walker and Angela Hannah, bronze medallists in last month’s European Championships, finished fifth in the women’s K2 200 final.
Equestrian: British Showjumping has announced the UK Sport National Lottery funded Great Britain squad to contest the FEI Alltech World Equestrian Games 2014, which takes place in Normandy, France (23 August – 7 September, with the jumping competition taking place 1-7 September 2014 in Caen).

Scott Brash MBE (28) from Scotland with Lady Kirkham & Lord & Lady Harris’ Hello Sanctos
Joe Clee (36) based in Belgium with Ludwig Criel’s Utamaro d’Ecaussines
Ben Maher MBE (31) from Hertfordshire with Mrs Jane Forbes Clark’s Cella
Spencer Roe (21) from Lincolnshire with Sally Roe’s Wonder Why
Michael Whitaker (54) from Nottinghamshire entered on both Amai, owned by Beatrice Mertens and Viking V, owned by Michael himself
Scott Brash is also entered with Lady Kirkham & Lord & Lady Harris’ Ursula and Ben Maher is also entered with Stoneridge Farm’s Wings Sublieme. Four horses and riders and a travelling reserve will be selected from this named squad to contest the Championships.
Judo: British Judo will send a four-strong team to the World Championships in Russia, from 25-30 August.
The squad will include England's Commonwealth Games gold medalists Ashley McKenzie (-60kg), Colin Oates (-66kg) and Natalie Powell (-78kg) as well as Sally Conway, the under-70kg world number six who fought to a bronze for Scotland in Glasgow.
Olympic silver medallist Gemma Gibbons has been ruled out with an ankle injury.
Para-Canoe: GB has once again topped the Paracanoeing Sprint World Championships medal table after winning six Gold and three Silver medals in Moscow during its most successful championships yet.

Rowing: The GB Rowing Team won three medals at the World Junior Championships in Hamburg, with silver for the men’s coxed four and men’s quad and bronze for the women’s quadruple scull.
Team Manager John Layng said: "It's been a really fantastic set of results to get three medals from four A-final boats and 50% of our top boats will still be juniors next year so we have a lot we can build on.”
Swimming: Daniel Fogg secured gold on the opening day of the European Open Water Swimming Championships in Berlin.
The British Gas National Centre Loughborough swimmer won the men’s 5km time trial in a time of 53:41.4.
Team GB: A squad of 33 athletes will compete for Team GB across 14 disciplines at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China from 16-28 August.

Wheelchair Rugby: GB finished fifth at the World Championships in Odense, Denmark, after beating the hosts 52-48 in a tight match.
Earlier in the tournament GB forced Paralympic silver medallists Canada to extra time, eventually losing out 59-58.
