Job Description
•Provide support to the delivery of the PE curriculum by teaching staff •Prepare and deliver well-structured, inclusive and progressive coaching programmes suited to pupil needs •To assist in identifying talented young people and encouraging further development via a number of different courses/opportunities.
•To be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage young people to participate in sport or physical activity.
•Evaluate pupils technically and tactically and set appropriate goals •Run extra-curricular coaching activities and clubs.
•Run daily lunchtime and after school sporting activities for pupils
Management of Information:
•Ensure that administration is completed accurately, including records of attendance and pupil progress, evaluations and where applicable referral / accident forms •Ensure that the sporting information on the school website is current and up to date •Assist with the assessment, and recording of pupils' achievement •Ensure accurate data is inputted into assessment spreadsheets •Maintain information regarding extra curricular clubs and fixtures on departmental notice boards to ensure it is current
Management of Resources
•Arrange orderly and secure storage of sports equipment and materials •Operation of every day equipment in accordance with instructions •Assist with the set up of PE equipment prior to lessons and the safe dismantling of PE kit at the end of lessons •Be responsible for the maintenance of Sporting equipment; check for quality/safety and undertake basic repairs when needed
