As the 2014 PSP Southampton Boat Show drew to a close yesterday (Sunday 21 September), over 112,000 people had enjoyed a real festival of boating. Exhibitors and visitors alike made the most of the improving economy and glorious weather throughout the 10 days.
Gold medal winning Olympian, Sir Ben Ainslie, celebrated the British Marine Federation’s Apprentice award scheme on Tuesday 16th September at the PSP Southampton Boat Show. Fifty five graduating apprentices from all areas of the marine industry were presented with their awards by the America’s Cup sailor.
The Yacht Harbour Association’s (TYHA) 7th Edition Code of Practice which has been eighteen months in the making was launched at the 2013 Marina Conference on Wednesday 8 May.

As the UK economy is navigating calmer waters, the British superyacht sector is racing ahead, with 69% of members responding to the Superyacht UK survey rating prospects for the next 12 months as good or excellent. The forecast is the most positive outlook for UK based superyacht manufacturing and supply for seven years.

The PSP Southampton Boat Show today announces that TV star Matt Baker will welcome in the first day of the internationally renowned boating festival. Matt will make his entrance by sailing in to the Show.
The British Marine Federation (BMF) is partnering with The Worshipful Company of Shipwrights to encourage apprenticeships within the marine industry. The Apprentice Expansion Scheme (AES) provides advice, guidance and funding of up to £8.5k to companies taking on marine apprentices.
