Sailing In Qingdao Grows Post 2008 Olympic Games

2010 City Club Open Regatta and ISAF IRO Seminar

The 'SinoFlying Cup' City Club Open Regatta takes place from 31 May to 3 June in Qingdao.
At the same time the ISAF IRO Seminar will be held from 30 May - 1 June at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center.

Secretary-General of the CCOR Organizing Committee, Mr. Qu Chun emphasizes five characteristics of the CCOR 2010:

1.Officialy, CCOR is a regatta for all ISAF IRO Seminar attendees practicing on the water.

2. CCOR is the first major regatta in Qingdao,this year to be approved by ISAF.

3. CCOR is a non-Olympic class regatta whose purpose is, to improve and enhance sailing activity to a wider audience and elevate the sport to a higher position.

4. CCOR attracted more than 70 sailors from 11 teams from the sailing clubs of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Yantai, Qingdao and Hong Kong. It is a platform for high level sailing and a forum from which yacht clubs that can exchange ideas and communicate with each other.

5. CCOR combines a sailing regatta with luxury product shows.

The Set Sail Ceremony opened with eleven brand new FE 26 keelboats which have been made ready for racing. The uncorking of champagne represents the start of CCOR.
