Dragonfly trimarans are represented in the UK by Multihull Solutions Ltd. These spectacular folding trimarans have been available in the UK since 1988 and today offer a range of four models from 28 to 40 ft.

Folding trimarans are gaining in popularity, as their incredible combination of performance and comfort reach a wider audience. Their effortless performance is due to light weight and slim hulls, which slice cleanly through the waves. The enormous righting moment ensures minimal heeling, so the whole family enjoy the ride while higher speeds offer wider cruising range, whatever your time scale. On arrival, a shallow draft allows anchoring in knee deep water, allowing the children to play on the beach while others sunbathe on the spacious trampolines. Finally, when the sailing is over, a folding trimaran offers a significant cost saving over other multihulls in today's crowded marinas, only requiriing a single berth.

Why a Dragonfly trimaran?

There is no other range of trimarans on the market today which can match the combination of quality, comfort and proven performance offered by a Dragonfly trimaran.

Standard Dragonfly features include:

Swing Wing - reduces beam by 50% in under 2 minutes using no tools.

Fast (20+knots), stable sailing with low heeling.

Proven over 800 boats since 1967, all built by the same family business in Denmark.

Easy single/two handed operation.

All control lines led to cockpit, including reefing.

Safe family cruising due to being unsinkable.

Shallow draft, with kick-up rudder and centre-board.

High quality interiors designed for the European climate.

Andersen stainless winches.

Frederiksen/Ronstan deck gear.

High resale values

AWARD WINNING - The leading European yachting media are convinced, as they have twice awarded Dragonfly trimarans the prestigious European Yacht of the Year title, in 2003 and 2008.

Yachting Monthly included the Dragonfly 920 in their "100 Best Boats of the Century" during 2006, as the only production trimaran to make their shortlist.

Dragonfly 1200 also won Boat of the Year in the US.

UNRIVALLED EXPERIENCE OVER 45 YEARS - In 2013 Quorning Boats celebrated their 45th anniversary and are acknowledged world leaders in folding trimarans, having built over 800 trimarans on the same site in Denmark since 1968. Since 1989, all Dragonfly trimarans have featured the Quorning Swing Wing system, which allows them to fold to fit in a standard width marina berth:

The Swing Wing system has several advantages over other systems which "fold under". As a Dragonfly folds, the outriggers remain upright, ensuring the antifouling remains in the water (rather than the topsides), and the decks are safe to walk on. Unlike many of the competition, the Dragonfly folding system is operated single-handedly from the cockpit, in under one minute each side, and without any tools.

In addition, the absence of beams and trampolines raised above the deck when folded greatly enhances the ease of boarding. Although the folded outriggers do increase the length of the waterline, they provide excellent protection to the lifted rudder and outboard motor.

Dragonfly performance is legendary, and proven in race victories including 2-Handed Round Britain & Ireland, Micro-Multihull European championships, MOCRA Nationals and Round the Island race. Dragonfly is also the choice of champions, with both Olympic sailing legend Paul Elvstrom and Round the World record-holder Cam Lewis among past owners.

Experiencing a high performance Dragonfly trimaran will redefine your expectations of sailing, so why not give it a try and unfold your horizons
