Racing 

A thriving race circuit for sail and power whether you want to race dinghies, yachts or powerboats, it’s all on offer.

Put two boats in the water and one will doubtless try and beat the other. Racing is divided into two main areas; sailboat racing and powerboat racing. Both provide a healthy competitive and social scene.

Sailboat racing is extremely popular and all types of sail boats race with regular dinghy and yacht racing taking place every week at clubs in your area.

Dinghy racing is action packed but also very accessible with races often lasting just a few hours arranged in an evening or at a weekends. Alternatively, you can campaign a dinghy and sail at open events around the country and world, the choice is yours. Dinghies range in cost from just a few hundred pounds to many thousands. Inshore and Offshore yacht racing usually offers a team approach to sail racing and a good social side too. The events diary for yacht racing is jam packed and offers local ‘round the cans’ racing to long offshore races like the Fastnet race. Powerboat racing falls into 3 main disciplines; circuit racing is fast furious action which happens on lakes and Inland water. Jetsport Racing, more commonly known as Jet Ski or personal water craft racing, on inland water and the open sea includes freestyle competition. Offshore racing is probably the most extreme type of watersport in the UK, really adrenaline fuelled.
