Since the introduction of the 49erFX to Olympic classes
sailing, female competitors around the globe have spent every minute of the day
mastering the art of high performance skiff sailing in preparation for its
debut at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
And with a European bronze medal and a top ten finish from the classes two European
Championships so far, as well as podium finishes on the ISAF Sailing World Cup
and EUROSAF Champions Sailing Cup circuits this year, the British Sailing
Team’s Frances Peters and Nicola Groves are among some of the world’s top
49erFX sailors.
Taking time out of their busy training schedule as they
prepare for the summer’s key regattas, the girls share their top tips for taming
