Google Video Quality Report

The Video Quality Report report sheds a light on what kind of performance your Internet Service Provider (ISP) typically delivers, how various providers stack up in your area, and what other factors play a role in video performance.

You may be prompted to view the report if you’re experiencing poor playback on your computer (such as frequent rebuffering or fuzzy video). A blue notification will appear below the player that says “Experiencing interruptions? Find out why.” Click on Find out why to view your Video Quality Report results.

Internet Service Provider ratings

This report will give your provider one of three ratings: HD Verified, Standard Definition, or Lower Definition. These ratings represent the video streaming quality you can expect (at least 90% of the time) when you watch YouTube on an Internet Service Provider in a specific area. Here’s what each rating means:

  • HD Verified: you should be able to consistently watch HD-quality video (at least 720p) without buffering or interruptions.
  • Standard Definition: you should be able to watch videos in Standard Definition (at least 360p) without buffering or interruptions.
  • Lower Definition: the video will play back in resolution lower than 360p, will load slowly, and may stop to re-buffer.

Remember that these ratings are focused on all users on an ISP’s network in a given region, rather than your connection alone.
